March 2009

Here's what we did in March.

In March I built Izzie her first fort out of the couch. She loved it. It was like a whole new world of cool. We didn't spend too much time in it until Izzie thought that her stuffed animals would like to join us, so she trotted off to her room and started packing them all out to the living room and the fort. Then she brought all of the fake food that she got for Christmas and brought that out so that we could have a picnic with the animals in our new fort. It was fun, and I was very stuffed. Here are pictures.

Grandma Shirley had to have surgery on her neck in March, so Lynnell and Izzie headed to Idaho for a week to help her out around the house. Here's pictures from that adventure:

Here's Izzie hanging out with Aunt Sam at Grandpa Joe & Grandma Tonia's house. They were loitering by the cat food petting the cat because Izzie has a new thing for cats.

Here's Izzie hanging out with her Aunts in Grandpa Joe's still unfinished basement.

And here's Izzie hanging out with Grandpa Joe.

For the most part Lynnell and Iz hung out at the Longley's place. Here's Izzie getting to know her new friend Husky dog.

She got to hang out and play with Irelynn a lot too.

One day Lynnell got the girls together to make cookies or something (I have no idea because I wasn't there so just go along with it).

Iz and Grandma Shirley getting cozy on the couch.

Here's Izzie having fun with Grandpa Joe just before they left to come home to Billings.

When Lynnell and Izzie got home it was just about time to mud and texture the basement, and that's just what happened. Izzie didn't know what to think of it all because the last time she saw the basement it was just framing. Here she is checking it out.

I installed a MacGyver dust shield while all this was going on and Izzie must have been under the impression that it was some sort of a peek-a-boo apparatus because that is all she used it for.

A couple of months ago we started recycling our recyclables with a bunch of friends, and I figured we needed a photo to commemorate the endeavor, so here's Nell look'n good in front of a bunch of garbage.

March also marked the milestone of helping. Izzie now wants to be part of everything and she does her darndest to help out even though it usually ends up as anti-help (yeah, I made that up). Here she is helping mom make some rice krispies treats.

Once she discovered that the marshmallows were edible and basically sugar (she saw me eat one) the jig was up. She crammed one in her mouth and the game was on. Here she is sporting two future marshmallow casualties. Unfortunately for her one was the limit. She was a good sport about it though and tossed them into the pot with the others.

Also new in March was a hair dew. Izzie's hair was finally long enough to put into a single pony tail. This must be a woman thing because I didn't quite understand the importance.

Izzie also got her toe nails painted for the first time. Need I say more.

It was a fun month of firsts, and I'm sure there is more to come.
