Worst Wreck To Date
Last night we had a major accident. I was pushing Izzie through the house on her horse. (It was more like a big shove and then she would go cruising from the living room to the kitchen.) Well on about the 8th go I started shoving her and something went wrong. The shove didn't go strait, and would have ended up with Izzie smashing into the dinning table and chairs which could have been a catastrophe. So, I did the old mega brake and tried to stop her before it turned out bad. Well, Izzie went flying forward which caused the back of the horse to flip up and out of my grip. Then she and the horse both went careening face first towards the floor. SHE HIT HARD. And then she didn't move. I was worried for about half of a second until I heard the scream coming. When Lynnell and I picked her up it was very apparent that something bad happened. There was a small pool of blood where her face was and there was even more blood pouring out of her mouth.
Turns out her teeth cut her upper lip really bad. It was bleeding pretty good, and the poor baby wasn't happy. I can't blamer her. It looked painful.
Here she is bawling while we try to tend to her wounds.

Lov'ns from mommy.

After 30 minutes of crying she started feeling better. Maybe it was the Tylenol kicking in.

But there was the periodic pain surge which always resulted in crying.

Followed by more loving and sympathy which resulted in no crying.

Here's a close-up of the damage.

Here's a dramatic re-enactment of the final crash position. Imagine Izzie with her legs straddling the horse and her face embedded into the floor. No she was not lucky enough to do this on carpet.

Poor baby.

This morning when we got up most of the swelling had gone down, but it wasn't any prettier.

Luckily she's a trooper, and she was back to her playful self this morning. And she obviously forgave me because she was very loving towards me.

Daddy's sorry baby. Love you.

Always so sad when your baby gets hurt... and you had something to do with it. I heard the good news - congratulations! I have no idea when we will all get together again, but hoping that we will sometime this summer. XOXO to the family, Shane.
