Billings Fair 2009

The fair came and went this year as it always does, and we couldn't resist going. We went fairly early in the evening so that we would have time to see the things we wanted to see before we went to the Big Air competition later on. The fair in Billings lasts about 10 days or so I think, and when it started getting set up Izzie didn't fail to notice. The fairgrounds are on the way to one of Lynnell's good friends' house, and every time they drove by the fairgrounds Izzie got excited. She must have been having flash backs of how much fun we had at the theme park in Utah. She could hardly contain herself when we finally went.

Here we are checking out the animals.

The Big Air competition started at 7pm, and we were there on time. It was an expedition show of dirt bikes, four wheelers and ... snowmobiles. Yes, snowmobiles. I've never been to one of these, so it was fun to see. They had a couple of big names there (heard them before), but I can't remember them now. Here's Izzie patiently waiting for the big event.

Action shot.

And the applause.

After the big air jumps we went to ride some rides. We bought Izzie some tickets and she went on the helicopters, train, hot air balloons, massive slide (burlap sack style) with dad and one crazy ride that made us both feel sick. I didn't get any pictures intentionally because I just wanted to be in the moment and enjoy it all. All you need to know is that we had a blast. Besides that, it's probably the last time we'll ever be at the Billings fair. (Yes that's a spoiler.)
