November 2008

November 2nd, Grannie Ali came over to hang out with us for a day, so we headed up to Red Lodge for some window shopping and fresh air. Here's Grannie and Izzie waiting for their burgers one of the best pubs to eat at in Red Lodge.

Here's Izzie giving a shout out to her homies as she walks into the living room.

And here she is coloring with me on some massive drawings that I brought home from work. They are actually pretty fun to color because of how big they are and all of the stuff that you can color. Izzie thinks they are the greatest. She has this little dance that she does on them once I lay them on the floor. Then she lays down and colors.

I'll probably catch a lot of heat for this next picture, but hey, it's reality. I'm sure every parent has had to deal with this at some point, and if you aren't a parent you'll now know what to look forward to. It's not the first time that this has happened, and I may have even posted about it before. Izzie went #2 in the bathtub, and I'm not talking wooden pencils here. The bummer is that it requires a quick scrub down of the bathtub and then another bath. I'm not going to lie though; it's pretty humorous when you think about it.

Elvis Presley impression:

At the end of November we drove over to Bozeman for the memorial service a very good friend of the family. Here's Iz napping on the way.

Here she is hanging out with Grannie and Grandpa Alan at the service.

and here she is showing off her great smile and beautiful eyes while dad tries to block the view.

November also rang in some new playtime activities. Here I am teaching Izzie how to pretend feed her stuffed animals. Luckily she has a dad that covers all of the basics, and she now also makes the slurping sounds and chewing sounds that go along with pretend food.

First burrito. And she held it together.

I'm sure you remember our friends who had the baby not too long ago. We'll here's Andrea and the baby visiting Lynnell and Izzie one day. Izzie's new thing with the baby: kissing her hands.

Action shot of Izzie going down gracefully with a smile.

November also marked Izzie's first fat lip. I was fortunate to whitness the event that caused it. I was sitting in the living room with a friend, and Lynnell was in Izzie's bedroom. Izzie was running back and forth between her room and the living room, and on about the 4th trip she decided to come running out of the hallway and immediately switch directions to go back. We'll, she hit linoleum and put the brakes on, but nothing happened. As she shifted her weight (do you like the ridiculously long explanation) she spun, and while she was in the air she also managed to get her face lower than any other part of her body. That's what it the floor first and, voila, fat lip. It' brings back bad memories of my college graduation night.

Here's a random picture of her Princes Laya hair dew that comes naturally after her pig tails come out. (that's right... I made a Star Wars reference)

We started a new favorite activity in November: watching videos on the web. We watch cartoons on YouTube, movies on Hulu and other random stuff on both.

Random Picture:

We bundled up for the Christmas parade at the end of November and headed downtown to battle for a primo spot. Here we are having a good time.

Another first: Izzie got her first religious spam. Unfortunately for everyone, all of the kids at the parade were getting them. I made light of it though, and told her "You've just been evangelized!" And then, of course, we took a picture of the event.

Here's Santa going by. He was the last one... besides the cop... and besides the street sweepers (just over the top of Izzie's head) that always follow every parade.

We also introduced PlayDoh, and then quickly discovered that it is easier to clean up if you wait until the morning once the little pieces had dried.

I have to post these pictures because it's just plain ridiculous. I went to the gun show here in Billings at the end of November to buy some more food for my AR. I also picked up a new ammo can to put it it. Here's Izzie packing the ammo can in from the car for me.

And here she is helping me fill it.

The End... of November.
